Cosmetics Alliance is pleased to announce an upcoming seminar on Bill-96 to help navigate changing product labelling and signage requirements resulting from recent regulatory amendments to the Charter of the French Language in Quebec. This seminar will help you understand the amendments to bring labels and products into compliance with specific ‘translation requirements’ under the Charter.

This seminar will be hosted by Beta Montemayor, Cosmetics Alliance Vice President and will feature Jason Moscovici from Provisions Legal. Together, they will help you understand the Bill-96 Regulation to prepare for compliance. Darren Praznik, Cosmetics Alliance President & CEO will provide a background on Quebec’s political landscape. There will be an open dialogue with attendees to identify uncertainties they may have with the regulation and help them understand how to implement the Bill on their labels. Attendees will be provided with different examples of items that are not as straightforward when determining whether it needs to be translated in French. This seminar will also help shape Cosmetics Alliance discussions with the Office québécois de la langue française (OQLF) as they look to develop guidance related to these amendments.

Objectives:

  • Understanding the political landscape of Québec
  • Understanding the Bill-96 Regulation and its requirements
    • Trademarks
    • Signage
    • Embossed packaging
  • Developing examples of labels that can be leveraged to continue discussion with OQLF

Attendees will be provided with a checklist to help ensure market compliance with the Bill after the seminar.

You will not want to miss this important seminar!
